General description

Ambroxol hydrochloride is a mucolytic expectorant and a metabolite of bromhexine. It is used in the treatment of respiratory disorders characterized by viscous or excessive mucus.

Application

Ambroxol hydrochloride standard may be used as a reference standard in the determination of ambroxol hydrochloride in pharmaceutical preparations using reversed-phase sequential injection chromatography (RP-SIC) and reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC).
