L′amilasi umana αè costituita da 496 aminoacidi in una singola catena polipeptidica codificata nel cromosoma 1. Questi sono prodotti sia dalle ghiandole salivarie che dal pancreas. Le amilasi salivarie e pancreatiche αhanno una sequenza primaria omologa ma mostrano modalità di taglio diverse.[1]
Application
α-l′amilasi è usata per idrolizzare α legami di αpolisaccaridi come amidi e glicogeno. Il prodotto A1031 di tipo IIA da saliva umana è fornito sotto forma di polvere liofilizzata. α-Amilasi è stata impiegata in diversi studi botanici come quelli sul metabolismo nella arabetta comune Arabidopsis [2]. α-Amilasi da saliva umana è stata usata per studiare lo sviluppo di di nutraceutici coadiuvanti delle cure di diabete e obesità .
Biochem/physiol Actions
α-l′amilasi idrolizza i legami α-(1,4) glucani nei polisaccaridi di tre o più unità collegate di α-(1,4) D-glucosio. Substrati naturali come amido e glicogeno sono scissi in glucosio e maltosio.[3]

The protein content and enzymatic activity are determined on a lot to lot basis. Each value is reported in the specific Certificate of Analysis. The protein content range is 5 - 15% and the enzymatic activity range is 300 - 1500 units per milligram protein. A review of recent lots indicates typical protein concentrations of 7 - 13% and activities of 1350 - 1450 units per milligram protein. As mentioned in the 'DESCRIPTION' section, this product is a lyophilized powder containing (NH4)2SO4, sodium citrate and sodium chloride. This product is not tested for purity. However, buffer salts are expected to be the bulk of the non-protein content.
