The SLC24A6 (solute carrier family 8 member B1) gene is mapped to human chromosome 12q24.13. The gene codes for a K+-dependent Na+/Ca2+ exchanger. The encoded protein is ubiquitously expressed in all the tissues. It is localized to inner mitochondrial membrane.
Immunogen
The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human SLC24A6.
Immunogen Range: 494-543
Biochem/physiol Actions
SLC24A6 (solute carrier family 8 member B1) protein is responsible for maintaining Ca2+ homeostasis in the cell. SLC24A6 protein regulates sodium uptake and calcium efflux from the mitochondria.
