Biochem/physiol Actions
KHS1 (kinase homologous to SPS1/STE20) is a component of MAP (mitogen activated protein) kinase signaling pathway and is responsible for activation of JUNK (c-Jun N-terminal kinase). Mutation in the promoter region of KHS1 is linked with lower risk of type 2 diabetes. It is also referred to as MAP4K5 (mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase kinase kinase 5)
