Synthetic peptide directed towards the C terminal region of human MCM8

Biochem/physiol Actions

Minichromosome maintenance complex component 8 (MCM8) is one of the mini-chromosome maintenance proteins that are crucial for eukaryotic genome replication. MCM proteins are key components of the pre-replication complex, recruit replication-related proteins and form replication forks. MCM8 complexes with MCM9 to recruit RAD51 at the sites of DNA damage to facilitate homologous recombination.

Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer with 0.09% (w/v) sodium azide and 2% sucrose.

The minichromosome maintenance protein homologs MCM8 and MCM9 have previously been implicated in DNA replication elongation and prereplication complex (pre-RC) formation, respectively. We found that MCM8 and MCM9 physically associate with each other and that MCM8 is required for the

The Mcm2-7 complex serves as the eukaryotic replicative helicase, the molecular motor that both unwinds duplex DNA and powers fork progression during DNA replication. Consistent with its central role in this process, much prior work has illustrated that Mcm2-7 loading
