The Standard Reference Material (SRM) is primarily intended for the evaluation and calibration of particle size measuring instruments within the 100 μm to 400 μm range. It is also utilized for evaluating wire-cloth test sieves that range from 106 μm (No. 140) to 355 μm (No. 45).
Features and Benefits
The certified value of the SRM was determined by calculating the mass fraction values, which were obtained through two methods:
scanning electron microscopy (SEM)
standard sieving procedures on stratified and randomly selected bottles of spheres.
NIST certificate is provided with information values for nominal and effective sieve openings.
The certified values are metrologically traceable to the SI derived unit for mass fraction (expressed as percent).
The NIST certificate is provided with expiration certificate, use, storage, handling, and maintenance instructions.
Other Notes
Please download a current certificate at nist.gov/SRM for current analytes and certified values.
