Imidacloprid is a neonicotinoid insecticide, which belongs to the chloronicotinyl nitroguanidine family. It is widely used to control crop pests and pet fleas.[1]

Imidacloprid may be used as a reference standard for the determination of imidacloprid in cereal and vegetables by high-performance liquid chromatography method.[2]
