Gene Information

human ... ATRX(546)

General description

Transcriptional regulator ATRX (EC 3.6.4.12; UniProt P46100; also known as Alpha thalassemia/mental retardation syndrome X-linked, ATP-dependent helicase ATRX, DNA dependent ATPase and helicase, Helicase 2 X-linked, X-linked helicase II, X-linked nuclear protein, XNP, Zinc finger helicase, Znf-HX) is encoded by the PRF1 (Also known as ATR2, JMS, MRXHF1, RAD54, RAD54L, SFM1, SHS, XH2, XNP, ZNF-HX) gene in human (Gene ID 546). Rad54 belongs to the SWI/SNF family of chromatin remodeling proteins. Rad54 undergoes cell cycle-dependent phosphorylation, nuclear matrix and chromatin association, and is implicatetd in playing a role in gene regulation during interphase and mitosis. ATRX mutations are associated with an X-linked mental retardation (XLMR) syndrome. most often accompanied by alpha-thalassemia syndrome, as a result of diverse changes in DNA methylation.

Immunogen

Epitope: N-terminus
Recombinant protein corresponding to the N-terminus of human ATRX.

Application

Anti-ATRX Antibody, clone 23C is an antibody against ATRX for use in Western Blotting and Immunocytochemistry.
