Protocadherin-19, also known as Potential calcium-dependent cell-adhesion protein (PCDH19), is a single-pass type I membrane protein that is moderately expressed in all regions of the brain and ovary, and has low expression in other tissues. Defects in PCDH19 cause epileptic encephalopathy, early infantile type 9 (EIEE9), also known as epilepsy female-restricted with mental retardation.
Immunogen
Epitope: Cytoplasmic domain
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to the cytoplasmic domain of human Protocadherin 19.
Application
Detect Protocadherin 19 using this Anti-Protocadherin 19 Antibody validated for use in IHC (Paraffin).
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:500 dilution from a representative lot detected Protocadherin 19 in mouse hypothalamus and hind brain tissues, whereas a 1:2,000 dilution from a representative lot detected Protocadherin 19 in human cerebellum tissue.

Cerebral cortex expansion is a hallmark of mammalian brain evolution; yet, how increased neurogenesis is coordinated with structural and functional development remains largely unclear. The T-box protein TBR2/EOMES is preferentially enriched in intermediate progenitors and supports cortical neurogenesis expansion. Here
