Mitochondrial carrier homolog 2 (MTCH2) may play a key role in the mitochondrial apoptosis pathway and may induce mitochondrial depolarization. MTCH2 is suggested to catalyze the exchange of substrates across the inner mitochondrial membrane in response to apoptotic signals. Additionally, it is suggested to be targeted by Bid, a pro-apoptotic Bcl-2 family member. The Bcl-2 family of proteins incorporates a number of critical regulators of apoptosis that can be divided into two classes: inhibitors of apoptosis and promoters of cell death. Apoptosis plays a major role in tissue homeostasis, normal organism development, and removal of damaged cells. The disruption of this process has been linked to a variety of diseases such as cancer.
Immunogen
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to human MTCH2.
Application
Anti-MTCH2 Antibody is a highly specific rabbit polyclonal antibody, that targets Mitochondrial carrier homolog 2 & has been tested in western blotting, IHC & Immunofluorescence.
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: 5 µg/mL from a representative lot detected MTCH2 in mouse kidney tissue.
Immunofluorescence Analysis: 20 μg/mL from a representative lot detected MTCH2 in mouse kidney cells.
Quality
Evaluated by Western Blotting in HEK293 cell lysate.
Western Blotting Analysis: 1 µg/mL of this antibody detected MTCH2 in 15 µg of HEK293 cell lysate.
Target description
~34 kDa observed.
