Anti-Gqα- and G₁₁α-Subunits, Internal (283-300), rabbit polyclonal, recognizes the ~42 kDa Gqα- and the ~43 kDa G₁₁α-subunits. Validated for use in WB and neutralization studies.
Protein A purified rabbit polyclonal antibody. Recognizes the ~42 kDa Gqα- and the ~43 kDa G11α-subunit proteins.
Recognizes the ~42 kDa Gqα- and the ~43 kDa G11α-subunits. Does not cross-react with other G-proteins of the non-pertussis toxin-sensitive family.
Immunogen
a synthetic peptide (IMYSHLVDYFPEYDGPQR) corresponding to an internal amino acid sequence shared by human, mouse, and rat Gqα- and G₁₁α-subunits
Application
Immunoblotting (1:1000)
Neutralization Studies (see comments)
Warning
Toxicity: Standard Handling (A)
Other Notes
The antibody recognizes both Gqα and G11α since they both share the internal sequence represented by the immunizing peptide. The antibody may also be useful to block receptor G protein coupling. Does not cross-react with other G proteins of the non-pertussis toxin sensitive family. Variables associated with assay conditions will dictate the proper working dilution.

Functional selectivity of agonists has gained increasing interest in G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) research, e.g. due to expectations of drugs with reduced adverse effects. Different agonist-dependent GPCR conformations are conceived to selectively activate a balanced or imbalanced intracellular signalling response

Rat brain capillary endothelial (B10) cells express an unidentified nucleotide receptor linked to adenylyl cyclase inhibition. We show that this receptor in B10 cells is identical in sequence to the P2Y(12) ADP receptor ("P2Y(T)") of platelets. When expressed heterologously, 2-methylthio-ADP

The human histamine H2-receptor (hH2R) couples to Gs-proteins to activate adenylyl cyclase and to Gq-proteins to activate phospholipase C, but phospholipase C activation has not consistently been observed. The aim of this study was to compare coupling of hH2R to

Appropriate termination of the phototransduction cascade is critical for photoreceptors to achieve high temporal resolution and to prevent excessive Ca(2+)-induced cell toxicity. Using a genetic screen to identify defective photoresponse mutants in Drosophila, we isolated and identified a novel Gα(q)
Previously we have shown that in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) renal angiotensin (Ang) II receptor (AT1R) upregulation leads to overstimulation of Na/K-ATPase by Ang II. There are reports that antioxidants can reduce oxidative stress and blood pressure (BP) in SHR
