General description

1,2-distearoyl-d70-sn-glycero-3-phosphate (sodium salt) (18:0 PA-d70) is a deuterated phosphatidic acid wherein 70 protons in distearoyl are replaced by deuterium isotope. Phosphatidic acid (PA) is a phospholipid located in the membrane.[1]

Biochem/physiol Actions

Phosphatidic acid (PA) plays an important role in signal transduction and membrane trafficking. It is also associated with cytoskeletal rearrangement and secretion. PA acts as an intermediate to produce storage and membrane lipids.[1]
