General description

Black phosphorus, also known as phosphorene, is a stable allotrope of phosphorus with semiconducting properties. It has a good mechanical property and a tunable band structure. BP also has good anisotropic thermal, electrical and optical properties.[1][2]

Application

BP is a two dimensional (2D) p-type material, which shows high hole mobility up to 1000 cm2V-1s-1. It can be used in the fabrication of energy storage devices such as lithium-ion batteries. BP can also be used in a variety of biomedical applications such as photodynamic therapy.[1][2][3][4]
Owing to the unique properties such as thickness dependent tunable band gap, strong in-plane anisotropy, and high carrier mobility, 2D-black phosphorous has attracted significant attention recently. The applications of 2D-black phosphorous extend from electronics, to optoelectronics, spintronics, thermoelectrics and storage devices.[5][6][7][8][9]

Caution

Material is very oxygen sensitive. Please handle under inert atmosphere.

Questions

  1. I wonder to know if this solution is exfoliated BP in a solvent? If so, how is number of BP layer?

    1 answer
    1. Yes, this BP is > 30 µg/ml in NMP. The exact value will be listed on the lot specific Certificate of Analysis: https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/certificates/COFA/90/902896/902896-BULK_______MKCQ5764__.pdf.

This is a two-dimensional p-type material as listed on the website. Additional layer information is not a specified test specification.
