Application

Select Yeast Extract has been used:
  • as a component of nutritive medium to culture the parasite from the egg to the third infective larval stage
  • in yeast extract peptone dextrose (YPD)-medium/YPD agar and buffered complex glycerol (BMGY/BMMY) medium to culture Pichia pastoris transformants
  • to prepare nutrient medium and growth medium for the larval development assay (LDA) using gastrointestinal nematode parasite eggs

Yeast extract is used as a bacteriological media component for a variety of microorganisms and molecular genetics applications.

Other Notes

Spray dried, autolyzed yeast extract.
Water soluble portion of autolyzed yeast with intact B-complex vitamins. Yeast extract is a mixture of amino acids, peptides, water soluble vitamins and carbohydrates and can be used as additive for culture media.
