Sodium ascorbate, also known as mineral ascorbate, is the sodium salt of ascorbic acid, commonly referred to as vitamin C. Application

(+)-Sodium L-ascorbate has been used:
  • as a standard to study the antioxidant and cytotoxicological effects of aloe vera food supplements
  • in the preparation of solution B for the detection of mitochondrial DNA replication using 5-ethynyl-2′-deoxyuridine (EdU)
  • to prepare EdU-labeling solution
  • to prepare β-galactosidase staining solution
