General description

During the Western blotting process, non-specific binding of antibodies to the membrane is detrimental to the specificity and sensitivity of the assay. To overcome this challenge, it is essential to block parts of the membrane not already occupied by proteins. The Amersham ECL blocking agent can be used for blocking Amersham Protran nitrocellulose (NC) and Amersham Hybond polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membranes when used along with the ECL chemiluminescence detection reagents, such as Amersham ECL, ECL start, ECL Prime, and ECL Select.

Application

This blocking agent is intended for blocking nitrocellulose and PVDF membranes used with ECL and ECL Plus Western Blotting Detection Reagents.

Features and Benefits

  • Each pack contains 40 g of membrane blocking agent.
