Eosin 5-isothiocyanate (EITC) is a fluorescence probe. EITC tagged molecules may be used together with fluorescein-5′-isothiocyanate (FITC) tagged molecules in fluoresce resonance energy transfer (FRET) based assays.

The self-association of pulmonary surfactant protein SP-C in lipid vesicles was studied using fluorescence energy transfer. Bovine SP-C was labeled with two fluorescent probes, succinimidyl 6-[N-(7-nitrobenz-2-oxa-1,3-diazol-4-yl)amino]hexanoate and eosin isothiocyanate, on the amino terminus of the protein, producing NBD-SP-C and EITC-SP-C

A solid substrate room temperature phosphorescence immunoassay (SS-RTP-IA) for the determination of human complement3 (C3) based on a sandwich type assay and a labelled avidin-biotin (LAB) type assay was described. The anti-human complement3 and avidin were labeled with eosin5-isothiocyanate. On

In this paper, the medium (pH, organic solvent and surfactant) effects on fluorescence of eosin-5-isothiocyanate (eosin-ITC) have been studied in detail. The results show that the pH and polarity of system studied are two great important influence factors on fluorescence
In this work, we have used resonance energy transfer to determine the relative positions of a reactive cysteine residue on the gamma subunit of the retinal cyclic GMP phosphodiesterase (gamma PDE) and a reactive lysine residue on the alpha subunit
