General description

n-Hexaneis typically used as a mobile phase solvent in normal-phase chromatography oras a diluent in reversed-phase chromatography. It can effectively separatecompounds that have similar chemical properties, such as hydrocarbons, fattyacids, and lipid samples.

Application

n-Hexanecan be used as a solvent for extraction of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs) from smoked, grilled, and boiled meats using gas chromatography - flameionization detector (GC-FID).
