Gene Information

human ... PPP1CC(5501)

General description

Type 1 protein Ser/Thr phosphatases (PP1) have a high specific activity against phosphorylase, and are resistant to okadaic acid up to concentrations of 50 nM, but sensitive to Inhibitor-2 and microcystin LR.

Specificity

Recognizes Protein Phosphatase 1γ1. No cross reactivity with other recombinant PP1 isoforms.

Immunogen

Epitope: C-terminus
The immunogen used to the purified peptide conjugated to KLH corresponding to the to the C –terminus of PP1 gamma 1 catalytic subunit (amino acids 311-323).

Application

Anti-PP1γ1 Antibody detects level of PP1γ1 & has been published & validated for use in WB & IP.
Immunoprecipitation: A previous lot of this antibody was used on Immunoprecipitation.

Format: Purified
Purified
Purified rabbit polyclonal IgG provided as 0.2µm sterile filtered solution in phosphate buffered saline with 0.08% sodium azide.

Storage and Stability

Maintain at -20°C in undiluted aliquots for up to 1 year from date of receipt.
Handling Recommendations: Upon first thaw, and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance.

Pathologic tau modifications are characteristic of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, but mechanisms of tau toxicity continue to be debated. Inherited mutations in tau cause early onset frontotemporal lobar dementias (FTLD-tau) and are commonly used to model mechanisms of tau

Memory formation is a complex cognitive function regulated by coordinated synaptic and nuclear processes in neurons. In mammals, it is controlled by multiple molecular activators and suppressors, including the key signalling regulator, protein phosphatase 1 (PP1). Here, we show that
