Gene Information

human ... AXIN1(8312)
mouse ... Axin1(12005)

General description

Axin-1 is constitutively expressed and acts as a negative regulator of Wnt expression. It has been demonstrated that mouse Wnt, Wnt3a, is secreted by multiple cell lines and can act and as a growth factor for stem cells. Secreted Wnt3a is highly hydrophobic because it is palmitoylated on an essential cysteine C77; the palmitoylated state of Wnt3a is essential for stem cell signaling. Incubation of stem cells with Wnt3a in tissue culture medium resulted in the increased number of mouse hematopoietic stem cells expressing "primitive" phenotype.

Specificity

This antibody recognizes the N-terminus of Axin-1.

Immunogen

GST-tagged recombinant protein corresponding to the N-terminus of mouse Axin-1.

Application

Detect Axin-1 using this Anti-Axin-1 Antibody, clone A5 validated for use in WB, IP & IC.

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blot using immunoprecipitated Axin-1 in SW-480 cell lysate.

Western Blot Analysis: 1 µg/mL of this antibody detected Axin-1 immunoprecipitated from 10 µg of SW-480 cell lysate.
