Description

General description

Phenylephrine, marketed as Neo-Synephrine^®, is the most common over-the-counter (OTC) decongestant in the US. Over the last few years, it has been marketed as a substitute for pseudoephedrine with tighter US government regulation of pseudoephedrine from the Combat Methamphetamine Epidemic Act of 2005.

Application

• Stability-Indicating Assay for Ibuprofen and Phenylephrine hydrochloride: A high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method was developed for the eco-friendly and stability-indicating assay of a binary mixture containing phenylephrine hydrochloride, highlighting its role in pharmaceutical quality control and formulation research (Kelani et al., 2023).
