2-(Methylamino)ethanol is used as an organic building block in chemical synthesis. It also finds applications in various fields such as textile lubricants, polishes, detergents, and in personal care products. In addition to this, it is used as a solvent for the removal of carbon dioxide from the gas stream.
Densities and Viscosities of Aqueous Ternary Mixtures of 2-(Methylamino) ethanol and 2-(Ethylamino) ethanol with Diethanolamine, Triethanolamine, N-Methyldiethanolamine, or 2-Amino-1-methyl-1-propanol from 298.15 to 323.15 K.

A CpG-containing DNA oligonucleotide functionalized with the 2-(N-formyl-N-methyl)aminoethyl thiophosphate protecting group (CpG ODN fma1555) was prepared from phosphoramidites 1a-d using solid-phase techniques. The oligonucleotide behaved as a prodrug by virtue of its conversion to the well-studied immunomodulatory CpG ODN 1555

LM fibroblasts grown in a chemically-defined, serum-free medium readily incorporated choline or one of three analogues of choline, namely N,N-dimethylethanolamine, N-monomethylethanolamine, or ethanolamine into membrane phospholipids. The effect of these phospholipid manipulations in vitro on tumor growth and metastasis was
