General description

Non-structure protein 3 (NS3), also known as dengue virus type 2 (DEN2), belongs to the Flaviviridae family. NS3 is a multifunctional protein with a molecular mass of about 69 kDa. It contains serine protease domain (NS3-pro) and it needs the hydrophilic domain of NS2B (NS2BH) for activation.

Immunogen

Recombinant protein fragment contain a sequence corresponding to a region within amino acids 354 and 568 of NS3 (Dengue virus 2) according to NP_739587

Application

Suggested starting dilutions are as follows: FACS: Assay-dependent dilution, ICC/IF: 1:100-1:2000, IHC: Assay-dependent dilution, IHC-P: Assay-dependent dilution, WB: 1:500-1:3000. Not yet tested in other applications. Optimal working dilutions should be determined experimentally by the end user.
Anti-NS3 antibody produced in rabbit has been used in flow cytometry.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Non-structure protein 3 (NS3) along with NS2B play a vital role in proteolytic cleavage of dengue virus (DEN) non-structural proteins. NS3 also acts as a RNA-stimulated nucleoside-triphosphatase (NTPase)/RNA helicase and a 5′-RNA triphosphatase (RTPase).
