General description

Polyoxyethylene (20) oleyl ether is a non-ionic surfactant which can be used as structure-directing agents.

Application

Polyoxyethylene (20) oleyl ether has been used in a study to assess its effect on the transport of ibuprofen across rat skin. [1] It has also been used in a study to investigate novel potential carriers for non-invasive drug delivery. [2]

Novel potential carriers for non-invasive drug delivery were prepared from polyoxyethylene(20) oleyl ether (C(18:1)EO(20)) and soybean phosphatidylcholine (SPC) in different relative molar ratios, R(e); this produced stiff SPC liposomes (2r(ves) approximately 120 nm) at one end and much smaller (2r(mic)
