General description

The Homeobox D4 (HOXD4) gene is localized in mesodermal tissues and the central nervous system (CNS). The HOXD4 gene is located on the human chromosome at 2q31.1.

Specificity

Anti-HOXD4 (N-terminal) recognizes human and mouse- HOXD4 (also known as HOX-4B, HOX-5).

Application

Biochem/physiol Actions

The Homeobox D4 (HOXD4) gene participates in tumorigenesis of the central nervous system. This gene acts as a biomarker in the diagnosis of gliomas. HOXD4 is involved in the evolution of spine and dura mater. It also participates in the etiology and pathogenesis of spinal extradural arachnoid cyst (SEDAC).

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phos­phate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.

Storage and Stability

For continuous use, store at 2–8 °C for up to one month. For extended storage, freeze in working aliquots. Repeated freezing and thawing, or storage in “frost-free” freezers, is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. Working dilutions should be discarded if not used within 12 hours.
