Mouse lung epithelial progenitor cell

Cell Line Description

A progenitor cell of the peripheral airway epithelium derived from transgenic H-2Kb-tsA58 mice capable of being passaged as an immortalised cloned cell line in culture. Cells will proliferate at 33°C in the presence of gamma-interferon, at 39°C in the absence of gamma-interferon cells will terminally differentiate. Supplied as frozen ampoules only.

Culture Medium

DMEM + 2 mM Glutamine + 4% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS) + 8 supplements:

0.25 μg/ml Endothelin-1
0.01 μg/ml Interferon gamma
10 μg/ml Insulin
5 μg/ml Transferrin
7.5 μg/ml Endothelial Cell Growth Supplement (ECGS)
0.025 μg/ml Epidermal Growth Factor
0.36 μg/ml Hydrocortisone
0.02 μg/ml T3

Subculture Routine

Split confluent cultures 1:5 to 1:10 i.e. seeding at 2-4x10,000 cells/cm2 using trypsin/EDTA;10% CO2; 33°C. Doubling time 48h
