1-(cis-3-Chloroallyl)-3,5,7-triaza-1-azoniaadamantane chloride may be used as a formaldehyde releaser to investigate the influence of formaldehyde in dermatitis patients with or without contact allergy to formaldehyde through baseline patch test series.[1]

Biochem/physiol Actions

1-(cis-3-Chloroallyl)-3,5,7-triaza-1-azoniaadamantane chloride, also known as quaternium-15, is used as a preservative in some cosmetics and other industrial products.[2] It releases formaldehyde therefore, repeated use products containing quaternium-15 may cause contact dermatitis.[2][3]
