General description

Sulfur can play the role as a cathode material and can also find applications in electric and hybrid electric vehicles. It can also form a composite with graphite, which can serve as an improved sulfur cathode materials for lithium-sulfur(Li-S) batteries with higher capacity and cycling stability.
This substance is listed on the positive list of the EU regulation 10/2011 for plastics intended to come into contact with food.

High-energy lithium metal batteries (LMBs) are expected to play important roles in the next-generation energy storage systems. However, the uncontrolled Li dendrite growth in liquid electrolytes still impedes LMBs from authentic commercialization. Upgrading the traditional electrolyte system from liquid to

How living organisms create carbon-sulfur bonds during the biosynthesis of critical sulfur-containing compounds is still poorly understood. The methylthiotransferases MiaB and RimO catalyze sulfur insertion into tRNAs and ribosomal protein S12, respectively. Both belong to a subgroup of radical-S-adenosylmethionine (radical-SAM)

Sediment-covered basalt on the flanks of mid-ocean ridges constitutes most of Earth's oceanic crust, but the composition and metabolic function of its microbial ecosystem are largely unknown. By drilling into 3.5-million-year-old subseafloor basalt, we demonstrated the presence of methane- and
