Gene Information

human ... CRHR1(1394)

General description

Corticotropin releasing factor receptor 1 (CRHR1) belongs to the G-protein-coupled receptor superfamily of brain-gut neuropeptides. It is highly expressed in the amygdala, hippocampus and frontal cortex. The gene encoding CRHR1 consists of 13 exons and is localized on human chromosome 17q12-q22.

Immunogen

Peptide with sequence KLYYDNEKCWFGKR from the internal region of the protein sequence according to NP_004373.2.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Corticotropin releasing factor receptor 1 (CRHR1) helps to initiate signal transduction pathways that control various functions like stress, reproduction, immune response and obesity. It blocks the multiplication of endocrine-related cancer cell lines.
