Gene Information

goat ... RPL26(6154)

Immunogen

The epitope recognized by PLA0299 maps to a region between residue 95 and 145 of human Ribosomal Protein L26 using the numbering given in entry NP_000978.1 (GeneID 6154).

Physical form

Tris-citrate/phosphate buffer, pH 7 to 8 containing 0.09% Sodium Azide

Other Notes

RPL26 is a component of the 60S ribosomal subunit. Ribosomes are composed of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit that function to catalyze protein synthesis. RPL26 is a cytoplasmic protein that functions at the translational level to induce protein expression. RPL26 has been demonstrated to bind the 5′ UTR of p53 mRNA in response to DNA damage. This interaction is described as one of many mechanisms that serve to increase p53 protein levels after DNA damage.

Interleukin-7 (IL-7) drives early B lymphopoiesis, but the underlying molecular circuits remain poorly understood, especially how Stat5 (signal transducer and activator of transcription 5)-dependent and Stat5-independent pathways contribute to this process.
