General description

Sepharose CL is a cross-linked derivative of sepharose, prepared by reacting sepharose with 2,3-dibromopropanol under strongly alkaline conditions.[1]

Application

Sepharose CL-6B is used in affinity chromatography, protein chromatography, gel filtration chromatography, separation media and resins. Sepharose CL-6B has been used to study in vitro inhibition of human melanoma cells and to gather data in other valuable anticancer studies.
SepharoseCL-6B has been used for the purification of glucoamylase enzyme[2] and targeted ribonucleoprotein (RNP)[3].

    1. This is a product of Cytiva. The manufacturer notes that this matrix is a well-proven cross-linked agarose size exclusion chromatography base matrix and is frequently used for coupling affinity ligands to the matrix. The matrix is not pre-activated and the user performs all steps in coupling. The matrix contains 6% cross-linked agarose size exclusion chromatography resins. but there is no added functionality or support.
