General description

n-Dodecane is used as a solvent in organic chemistry. It is used as a distillation chaser and scintillator component. Currently, n-dodecane is being considered an alternative to kerosene-based fuels.

Application

n-Dodecane is used as a:
  • Non-polar solvent for the direct synthesis of indium nanoparticles.
  • Diluent in bifunctional ionic liquid (IL) to extract lithium from brines.
