General description

A cell-permeable cationic surfactant that reversibly inhibits dynamin GTPase activity (IC50 = 3.15 µM) by targeting the PH domain and interfering with phospholipid binding. Shown to block dynamin I-dependent SVE (synaptic vesicle endocytosis) in rat brain synaptosomes and dynamin II-dependent RME (receptor-mediated endocytosis) in non-neuronal HeLa, A431, and COS-7 cells. Inhibition is competitive with respect to PS and noncompetitive with respect to GTP.
