General description

Cetrimide Agar is suitable for selective isolation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The use of cetrimide (cetyltrimethylammonium bromide) largely inhibits the growth of the accompanying microbial flora. A concentration of 0.3 g/l of cetrimide inhibits the growth of accompanying organisms satisfactorily and minimizes interference with the growth of P. aeruginosa. The pigment production of P. aeruginosa is not inhibited when grown on this medium. P. aeruginosa can produce different pigments in different combinations. More than 90% of all strains produce the bluish, non-fluorescent pyocyanin, as well as the yellowish, fluorescent pyoverdin (fluorescein). Each settle plate is of 90 mm in diameter, and the packs are single-bagged in transparent, hydrogen peroxide impermeable sleeves (non-irradiated).

Application

Cetrimide Agar - LI is designed for selective isolation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in non-sterile pharmaceutical products.

    Mistake in Tech DS

    Pls, check and change TechDS.
HEIMPLATE - what does it mean? Is it any new trade mark / brand name instead of LI-plate?

    Helpful?

    1. Response from MilliporeSigma:

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review! Per C25578469: HEIMPLATE is a trademark. The change of name from some LI plates to HEIMPLATE was a marketing decision to have the portfolio introduce a trademark. Other than the marketing, nothing has changed about this product. The documentation is currently being updated and will be available soon.
