General description
Reaction of bromomethyl phenyl sulfone with potassium thiophenoxide in dimethyl formamide gave phenylthiomethyl phenyl sulfone. It undergoes disproportionation with KOH in DMSO at room temperature to yield methyl phenyl sulfone and dibromomethyl phenyl sulfone.
