General description
Ethyl acetate can be obtained via esterification reaction between ethyl alcohol and acetic acid in the presence of sulfuric acid. It can find applications as a solvent in the production of inks, varnishes, fat, nitrocellulose, etc. It can also be used as a cleaning agent in textile industry and as a flavoring agent for in food and pharmaceutical industries. It can also serve as a substitute for methyl ethyl ketone in food industry.
