General description

Homeobox B4 (HOXB4) gene is mapped to human chromosome 17q21.

Application

Anti-HOXB4 antibody produced in rabbit has been used in immunoblotting and immunofluorescence.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Hox genes helsp to modulate important development pathways that are involved in morphogenesis of the embryo. It also helps in the formation of the body plan during embryonic development. These gene are known to play important roles in normal development, altered homeobox gene function or expression. It is also implicated in the development of cancers, such as leukemias or neoplasms of the breast, prostate, kidney, colon, skin and brain. Homeobox B4 (HOXB4) helps to control the balance between hematopoietic stem cell renewal and differentiation. Suppression of HOXB4 may reverse multidrug resistance (MDR) of K562/ADM cells.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
