General description
Zinc fluoride is a Lewis acid catalyst that can be used in a variety of reactions including esterification, Mukaiyama aldol reaction, Mannich reaction, Friedel-Crafts alkylation, and allylation. It can also be used as an additive in numerous catalytic transformations[1].
Application
Zinc fluoride can be used as a catalyst to synthesize optically active β-amino ketones and esters via asymmetric Mannich reaction[2].
