General description

N,N-Dimethylacetamide (DMAc) is widely used to compose solvent mixtures for cellulose. Static and dynamic light scattering studies of cellulose dissolved in varying concentrations of DMAc/LiCl mixtures have been reported.

Application

N,N-Dimethylacetamide have been used as solvent in the preparation of nanocomposite materials, comprising of cellulose and hydroxyapatite, using microwave-assisted method. It has also been used as a solvent for poly(ether imides), which can be used to coat magnesium alloys, in order to prevent corrosion.
