General description

Dopamine Beta Hydroxylase (DBH), the structural locus encoding DβH enzyme, is a major quantitative trait locus influencing plasma DβH activity, with one single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) accounting for up to 50% of the variance. Mutations at DBH appear to be responsible for the rare syndrome of DβH deficiency. It functions as the only enzyme involved in the synthesis of small-molecule neurotransmitters that is membrane-bound, making norepinephrine and epinephrine the only transmitters synthesized inside vesicles. It is expressed in noradrenergic nerve terminals of the central and peripheral nervous systems, as well as in chromaffin cells of the adrenal medulla.

Specificity

Dopamine beta hydroxylase (DBH).

Immunogen

Purified bovine DBH.

Application

Anti-Dopamine β Hydroxylase Antibody, clone 4F10.2 detects level of Dopamine β Hydroxylase & has been published & validated for use in IH, IH(P) & IF.
Indirect immunofluorescence:
1:300-1:500 dilution of a previous lot was used on rat brain tissue.

Optimal working dilutions must be determined by the end user.

Immunohistochemistry(paraffin):
Representative images from a previous lot.

Optimal Staining With Citrate Buffer, pH 6.0, Epitope Retrieval: Rat Spinal Cord

Quality

Immunohistochemistry(paraffin): Dopamine β Hydroxylase (cat. # MAB308) staining pattern/morphology in rat spinal cord. Tissue was pretreated with Citrate, pH 6.0. This lot of antibody was diluted to 1:300, using IHC-Select Detection with HRP-DAB. Immunoreactivity is seen predominantly expressed in the dorsal root ganglia (DRG).

Optimal Staining With Citrate Buffer, pH 6.0, Epitope Retrieval: Rat Spinal Cord

Linkage

Replaces: MAB394-250UG; MAB394-100UG; MAB394-25UG

Tissue and nerve damage can result in chronic pain. Yet, chronic pain after cesarean delivery is remarkably rare in women and hypersensitivity from peripheral nerve injury in rats resolves rapidly if the injury occurs in the puerperium. Little is known
