General description

Elastica van Gieson staining kit - for connective tissue is a ready to use staining kit used for human-medical cell diagnosis and the method is principally used to visualize elastic fibers in tissue sections. in for example, histological sections of e. g. the liver, the kidney, the intestine, the placenta and similar.
Various staining methods are used to demonstrate elastic fibers in tissue sections. Brilliant staining results are usually achieved when using the resorcinol-fuchsin solution according to Weigert in combination with a picrofuchsin solution acc. to van Gieson, (Product number 1.00199) and nuclear staining with Weigert′s iron hematoxylin solution (Product number 1.15973). These solutions have now been combined in the Elastica van Gieson kit for the detection of elastic fibers in histological sections. The kit contains the set of four ready-to-use solutions and will result in the visualization of black-brown nuclei, black-stained elastic fibers, red collagen and yellow-stained muscles.
The package is sufficient for 400 - 500 applications.
The Elastica van Gieson kit is an IVD & CE product and can be used in the clinical laboratory for diagnostics. For more details, please see instructions for use (IFU). The IFU can be downloaded from this webpage.
