General description

Guanidine nitrate (GN) is an explosive used by the military and commercial sectors[1]. Decomposition of guanidine nitrate has been investigated[1].

Application

Guanidine nitrate has been used:
  • in ammonium nitrate explosive formulations and in various propellant applications including triple-base gun propellants[1]
  • to examine the vapor signatures of the nitrate salts of guanidine by isothermal thermogravimetric method[2]
