SMI-4a is a selective ATP-competitive Pim-1 kinase inhibitor with an IC50 of 21 nM for Pim-1 compared to an IC50 of 100 nM for Pim-2 and with little or no activity against a panel of 50 other kinases tested. SMI-4a has been found to inhibit prostate cancer cell growth and induce G1 phase cell-cycle arrest in precursor T-cell lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoma cell lines.

PIM kinase is involved in the cellular processes of growth, differentiation and apoptosis. However, the role of PIM1 in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced acute lung injury (ALI) remains largely unknown. A trend of PIM1 in the lung tissue of LPS-induced ALI at
PIM1 is serine/threonine protein kinase that is involved in numerous biological processes. Pulmonary fibrosis (PF) is a chronic pathological result of the dysfunctional repair of lung injury without effective therapeutic treatments. In the current study, we investigated whether PIM1 inhibition

The development of targeted tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) has succeeded in altering the course of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). However, a number of patients have failed to respond or experienced disease relapse following TKI treatment. Proviral integration site for moloney murine

The Inflammatory cytokine, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), disrupts blood-brain barrier (BBB). Propofol reportedly exerts an anti-inflammatory effect in the central nervous system. We hypothesized that propofol could provide a protective effect against TNF-α-induced disruption in human cerebral microvascular endothelial cells
Obesity is a growing epidemic, and as a consequence the number of obese pregnancies has also increased. Pregnancy is characterised by maternal and placental inflammation which is intensified with maternal obesity. The proviral integration site for Moloney murine leukemic virus
