General description

Methyl palmitate (MeP) is a high melting point component of biodiesel. It is used in a variety of flavors and fragrances and found abundantly in palm oil-related feedstocks.
Methyl palmitate is a fatty acid methyl ester, which shows potential anti-inflammatory and antifibrotic effects by preventing bleomycin-induced lung inflammation and inhibiting the nuclear factor kappa-β pathway(NF-κB).

Application

Methyl palmitate may be used as an analytical reference standard for the quantification of the analyte in biodiesel samples using chromatography techniques.
Refer to the product′s Certificate of Analysis for more information on a suitable instrument technique. Contact Technical Service for further support.
