Gene Information

human ... TFG(10342)

General description

The TRK-fused gene protein (TFG) gene is highly conserved among mammalian species, and is widely studied as a fusion gene partnering with various oncogenes. The function of the resultant TFG protein product is still unclear. TFG regulates the activity of phosphotyrosine-specific phosphatase-1 (SHP-1), and may be important in cells containing SHP-1 such as epithelial and neuronal cells. Defective TFG contributes to thyroid papillary carcinoma.

Specificity

This antibody recognizes the C-terminus of TFG.

Immunogen

Epitope: C-terminus
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to the C-terminus of human TFG.

Application

Research Category
Neuroscience
Research Sub Category
Developmental Neuroscience
This Anti-TFG Antibody is validated for use in Western Blotting, IHC(P) for the detection of TFG.
Western Blot Analysis: 0.1 µg/mL from a representative lot detected TFG on 10 µg of human brain tissue lysate.

Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution from a representative lot detected TFG in mouse hippocampus, mouse cerebellum, human placenta, and human pancreas tissues.

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blot in HeLa cell lysate.

Western Blot Analysis: 0.1 µg/mL of this antibody detected TFG on 10 µg of HeLa cell lysate.

Target description

~56 kDa observed. The calculated molecular weight is 43 kDa, however TFG has been shown as a ~56 kDa band in western blots (Greco, A., et al. (1995). Molecular and Cellular Biology. 15(11):6118–6127.)
