General description
O-methyl-serine-dodecylamide hydrochloride (MSDH) is a synthetic lysosomotropic detergent.
Application
MSDH is suitable is suitable to induce lysosomal membrane destabilization to investigate the mechanistic basis for Bax/Bak-mediated autophagic cell death.
Biochem/physiol Actions
O-methyl-serine-dodecylamide hydrochloride (MSDH) stimulates cell death. After apoptosis, it may activate procaspase 3-like proteases and cause partial lysosomal rupture.
