General description
Fish oil is derived from the tissues of oily fish. It lowers blood pressure and high triglyceride levels.[1] Fish oil may be used to treat depression, psychosis, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder and Alzheimer disease. It reduces inflammation, enhances cognition and decreases cardiovascular disease risk.[2]

Biochem/physiol Actions
Menhaden Oil is rich in omega-3 fatty acids. When used to partially supplement a high-fat diet in diabetic rats, Menhaden oil improved end points for peripheral neuropathy by improving motor and sensory nerve conduction velocity. Decreased accumulation of fatty acids in rat livers was also demonstrated.

This product is a crude source of fatty acids. It is not intended for use as an analytical standard. The material is approximately 30% Omega-3 Fatty Acids and up to 30% other Fatty Acids such as Palmitic and Stearic.
