Questions

1–2 of 2 Questions
  1. I would like to know if the main ingredient is fluorine or other to check whether this product can be used as Capstone FS-66 Also, I would like to know how much concentration of Fluorosurfactant is and how much viscosity it has.

    1 answer
    1. The specific surfactants present are not identified (ASTM standard MBAS analysis). The analyte values vary for each lot and not all lots contain all the analytes. Anionic Surfactant - WP, product QC114, contains sodium dodecyl sulfate.

  2. I'm getting Low results (3.1mg/l) for CRM QC1144 MBAS. We calibrate with SDS - could you confirm components of this CRM mixture as we may need to apply a factor to get the correct results if other surfactants (e.g. SDBS) are part of the mix? Thanks

    1 answer
    1. All anionic surfactants present are calculated via the MBAS analysis method (methylene blue active anionic substances). The MBAS assay is an ASTM International standard technique for detecting anionic surfactants and this assay does not identify specific surfactants. For this product, the concentration values will vary from lot to lot. Some lots may not contain all of the analytes, however sodium dodecyl sulfate is present. This standard should be diluted according to instructions provided in the Certificate of Analysis - 10 mL of this standard is diluted in water to 1 liter for use.
