Biochem/physiol Actions

Precursor del ácido γ-hidroxibutírico (GHB). Bloquea la liberación de dopamina al bloquear el flujo de impulsos en las neuronas dopaminérgicas. El pretratamiento con γ-butirolactona permite la detección de la liberación de dopamina inducida por autorreceptor.
