Application

Maltohexaose (G6) was used as the acceptor for quantifying 4-α-glucanotransferase activity in a study that assessed discrimination of porcine glycogen debranching enzyme isozymes. It has also been used in a study to investigate the production of a thermophilic maltooligosyl-trehalose synthase.

The thermoacidophilic archaeon Sulfolobus solfataricus MT4 encodes a maltooligosyltrehalose synthase (MTS), that catalyzes an intramolecular transglycosylation process converting the glycosidic linkages at the reducing end of dextrins from alpha-1,4 into alpha-1,1. In this research the gene encoding MTS was cloned

Glycoproteins are biologically active proteins of which the attached glycans contribute to their biological functionality. Limited data is available on the functional properties of these N-glycans in isolation, without the protein core. Glycan release, typically performed with the PNGase F

Alpha-cyclodextrin complexes with linear alpha,omega-dicarboxylic acids were investigated by electrospray mass spectrometry. These hydrophobic complexes are known to have an equilibrium binding constant that increases with the diacid chain length. However, the electrospray mass spectrometry (ES-MS) spectra showed that the

AmyUS100DeltaIG is a variant of the most thermoactive and thermostable maltohexaose forming alpha-amylase produced by Geobacillus stearothermophilus sp.US100. This enzyme which was designed to improve the thermostability of the wild-type enzyme has acquired a very high resistance to chelator agents.
